María González de Audícana Amenábar graduated in Agricultural Engineering from the Public University of Navarre (1996), winning an Extraordinary Award, and went on to obtain a PhD in Agricultural Engineering there (2002). Her research focuses on the development of algorithms to pre-process and process images taken by remote sensors, and their application in agriculture. A member of the Hydrology and Structural Analysis research group, she has taken part in eleven competitive research projects, four as lead researcher, and numerous contracts with companies and public bodies. She has co-authored more than twenty scientific publications in indexed international journals and science magazines. As a result of her work, she has been awarded prizes by the Spanish Remote Sensing Association and the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.
Her academic management experience includes serving as the Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Projects and Engineering (2008-2015), and sitting on the Academic Committees for a number of the School of Agricultural Engineering’s undergraduate and master’s degrees.
